Dr. Momtaz is an Egyptian open water swimmer who was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 2007 as an Honour Swimmer. On 22 July 1984, he completed a two-way crossing of the English Channel (England-France-England) in 21 hours 37 minutes at the age of 21.

After his tremendous succsses as an open water swimmer, Osama dedicated his career to coaching aspiring swimmers of all ages. Currently coaching for Neptune Swimming Club at Stockholm and the Egyptian national team.
