A sit down with our swim-mum Višnja Križ Reflection on previous SwimCamps experience of Noa - a Young and Aspiring Swimmer

Welcome to our interview with Višnja Križ, a dedicated swim-mum, as she shares her reflections on Noa’s previous experiences at SwimCamps. Noa, a young and aspiring swimmer from Croatia, has attended our camps in the past and is set to participate again in 2023. Join us as we delve into Višnja’s perspective on the camp,
its impact on Noa’s swimming journey, and the valuable lessons learned along the way.

SwimCamps: Thank you for joining us, Mrs. Križ. We are very happy that Noa has been a part of our camps and looking forward to having him again! We'd like to hear about your impressions of the swim camp that Noa attended. Were your expectations met, and do you have any particularly positive or negative experiences to share?

Višnja Križ: Thank you for having me. I must say that the organization of the entire camp was excellently thought out. All our expectations were not only met but exceeded. Both Noa and I have nothing but positive experiences and memories. We especially liked the fact that swimming techniques were divided by days, focusing on
a different technique each day. Besides swimming and training, there was more than enough time for fun, socializing, good food, and outings. Noa particularly enjoyed the opportunity to choose a swimming technique for video recording and analyzing the
footage with the coaches.

VK: The benefits of the camp are truly evident and unquestionable. Through detailed analysis of every small aspect of swimming techniques and direct conversations with
the coaches, those aspects were corrected, leading to the refinement of techniques. After returning from the camp, Noa made significant progress and saw a great leap in his results. One of his greatest achievements was becoming a four-time Croatian
national champion and the overall winner of the cadet grand prix competition cycle. Apart from improvements in time and technique, the camp contributed significantly to
the ‘invisible’ yet perhaps the most important aspect of swimming, which is
confidence. The camp provided Noa with a sense of security in his knowledge and abilities. He would confidently step onto the starting block and dive into every race. And for swimmers, especially at this young age, that’s invaluable.

SC: That's truly impressive! One of the main goals of our camps is to give swimmers the support they need to get brave and confident in the water, Noa's achievements definitely confirm the mentality "switch". In your opinion, how well did the swim camp cater to Noa and the other participants on an individual level? Were there any areas where you feel they could have received more personalized attention or support?

VK: The smaller number of children in the camp was excellent as it gave the
coaches the opportunity to focus on each swimmer individually. At times, Noa felt as if there were no other swimmers present, as if he was having individual training sessions with the coaches. One crucial aspect of swimming is immediate feedback on whether something was swum well or needed improvement. This was perhaps the greatest advantage of the camp’s training sessions because Noa received instant feedback from the coaches on what and how to proceed, acknowledging what was done well and what needed to be changed.

SC: Reflecting on Noa's experience at the swim camp, do you consider it a successful investment of his time and your resources?

VK: Every success requires certain resources and investments, but without sacrifice (both in terms of time and finances), there can be no results. Noa experienced the swim camp as a great source of fun and learning, where everything was taught and practiced through games. He willingly and eagerly participated in every aspect of the camp, and nothing was too challenging for him. His only ‘negative’; comment about the camp was that it was too short and should last twice as long. Financially, it’s a real challenge for us parents to provide everything our swimmer needs, but we give it our all, and we have no regrets about any cent invested.

SC: That's remarkable dedication. Lastly, would you recommend this camp to other parents who are interested in improving their child's swimming abilities?

VK: Absolutely, we would highly recommend this camp to anyone who wants to give their child the best chances for success in swimming. Working with top-notch coaches and swimming alongside athletes from all over the world is truly invaluable.
The exchange of experiences, increased self-confidence, improved swimming techniques, all while having fun, enjoying good food, and making friends—it’s simply
perfect, priceless, and an unforgettable life experience.

SC: Thank you so much for sharing your insights and experiences, Mrs. Križ. It's truly inspiring to hear about Noa's achievements and the positive impact of the swim camp. We wish Noa the best of luck in his upcoming preparations for the national championship in July.

VK: Thank you. After the final sixth cadet grand prix competition, Noa emerged as
the overall winner of the cadet grand prix, and now we are gearing up for intense preparations for the national championship, which will take place in July.

SC: That's fantastic news! We'll be eagerly cheering for Noa during the national championship. Once again, thank you for your time, and we appreciate your valuable insights.

VK: Thank you, and it was my pleasure to share our experiences.
